BIG Trade Lands BIG Player

by Dickie Dunn

The Langton Royals got busy early in the season acquiring defensemen Ismail
Prudent from the Maniwaki Mustangs. In return Maniwaki received Goaltender Elie Giguere.

"We felt that this was a good move for our club to help our back end grow and become stronger. I'm a firm believer that your offense stems from your back end, or should" Said Head Coach Jason Do Paco. "Ismail brings experience to the back end and he’ll also help our power play." Do Paco went on to say "Ellie will head up to Maniwaki. I didn't feel I would be able to give him the play time that he wanted and I don't believe in holding kids back. I discussed everything with Eric up in Maniwaki and together we decided that the trade was in the best interest for both Ismail and Elie. It was an easy smooth deal. We are really excited to see Ismail as he comes in this week. Some of our guys already know him and they say he can really play."

Prudent was drafted in the 2015 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to the Quebec Ramparts. He then played in various leagues such as the Quebec Junior AAA hockey league and the CCHL2. Ismail will be suiting up in the blue white and gold this upcoming Sunday in Langton when the Wexford raiders come to town. Game time is 2pm
